This Year So Far…

This year hasn’t been the greatest year so far. First I find out that I failed my BioChem class last semester and have to re-take it. Then I go on my first real field outing for my research, and what happens… my car decides it wants to turn on the check engine light. Oh, it gets worse… That was in the middle of January, and it still isn’t working. We’ve changed the head gaskets, had the heads resurfaced and still the #6 cylinder is misfiring. The next step is to once again buy gaskets and switch the heads to verify if its the heads or if it’s a cracked block. Unfortunately, a cracked block means a new motor. But it doesn’t stop there… no, no… it gets worse. My grandmother went back into the hospital, I had to have a very uncomfortable conversation with my parents which I am not going to discuss currently because I may spontaneously burst into tears, again. Lets just say it was not something you ever expect or want to hear from your parents. But wait, it gets even better… I have 15 units, all but one class are 400 level, and which one am I having the most trouble with? The 300 level. Life for me has become very depressing, and more difficult than ever. But I’m surviving. Every morning I thank God that I am given another day, have a boyfriend who loves and supports any and all decisions I make, and am surrounded by some of the best friends anyone could ask for, I love them all.

On a brighter note, however, I am involved in two new ministries at church and am totally in love with them both. Shift is awesome and I’m loving every minute of it. We went Geo-cacheing (sp?) on Saturday night and had so much fun. We started around 7:30 and ended up at one of the Pastor’s houses playing Wii for hours. We finally left and went off to bed (and unfortunately changed our clocks to loose an hour) around midnight.  The second is the Road. It’s a new ministry for the 5th and 6th grade kids. Basically I get to hang out with my girls for another couple hours durring the week. I love them to death… they always make me smile. They’re always happy and greet me with a smile and a hug. Another thing I’m excited about is graduating in May with my B.S. in Biology (that is if I don’t fail anything).  It’s about time I stip working on my undergrad since I’m already a 5th year senior. Anyway, I guess that’s all for my mindless rambles for today… =)
